Once Upon A Time...

Every fairytale has to have a beginning. Mine and Jet's fairytale began January 16, 2010. We decided—in an effort to escape the cold—to be married in the Orlando Florida temple. You can't dream of telling a fairytale story without the couple being married in a castle. We were. I felt like a princess the whole day.

I woke up early that morning, having had only a few hours of sleep (my sisters threw me a fun bachelorate party the night before) and was suprised to find that I was so incredibly calm. I was just filled with gratitude and happiness. I had no doubt that Jet was not only everything I could have ever wanted but everything I needed. In a very literal sense, he is my dream come true.

Calm as I was, my mom drove me to the temple where Jet was standing outside. It was so great to see him. He looked so handsome. We entered the temple, and I just felt so much joy. It was so wonderful to be surrounded by our closest friends and family.

It was forecasted to thunderstorm. We had prayed all week that it wouldn't rain so that we would be able to take pictures with our family and friends, many of whom had travelled all the way from Utah and California. Outside the temple, we took pictures as quickly as we could trying to race the rain. It never even sprinkled. We found out shortly after that it had rained all around the temple. I know that Heavenly Father heard our prayers and answered them. It was much a tender mercy.

Jet and I drove back from Jacksonville by ourselves. It was so great. I've heard so many girls tell me that their wedding days were nothing but rush, rush, rush. They never got to take a moment to catch up. Well, mine was perfect. I had three hours to just slow down and be with my husband. We talked and enjoyed one another's company on the way back to Jacksonville.

The reception was the best reception I've ever been to personally. I may be a little biased—but not much. It was perfect. My mom and dad worked so hard to make it so great and I am very grateful to them. We had great food, great music, great dancing, and, most of all, great company! Jet completely suprised me by singing me a song in front of everyone. Everyone was calling him Michael Buble for the rest of the night!

The suprises didn't end there. Jet hadn't told me where we were going on our honeymoon. But I was so excited when he revealed that we were going on a cruise to the Bahamas! We both love the beach, and the white sand, palm trees, and turquoise water was our paradise. Jet loved being in the water. He even dove into the port near the cruise ship for two conch shells! A Bahamian man said, "You are the bravest tourist we've ever seen. There are fish in the water in this port that can kill you if they bit you!" Well, needless to say, I am glad he lived.

I still haven't decided what Jet loved more...the ocean or the food onboard the ship. I have never seen one person eat so much in my entire life (and that's saying a lot if you've ever met the biggest lover of food I know: my dad)! He ate so much one night that he literally threw up. It was insane.

After the cruise, we flew straight to California for another reception. My family flew out also, and it was nice to spend some time with them—especially since it was my sister Kori's birthday that weekend. Jet's family is so talented. They did a really funny skit of mine and Jethro's relationship. Jet's brother even rewrote "Party in the USA" (my favorite song!) to be about us. I loved it!

Now, we are just back in Provo enjoying the fairytale.
